About Us
Hualngo Land Development Organization (HLDO) was established in April 2010 for the all round development of the Hualngo Area, Chin State, Myanmar. In 2022 we have extended in Mindat, Saw and Kyaukhtu Townships. HLDO was established by a group of tribal leaders who are committed to serving their people with a strong desire and determination to help improve all aspects of the quality of life for the communities they live in.

Shifting Cultivation to permanent Farming
Shifting cultivation, also known as slash-and-burn agriculture, involves clearing land, planting crops for a few years, and then moving on to new land as the soil fertility declines. While it has been practiced by many indigenous communities for generations, shifting cultivation can have negative environmental impacts, such as deforestation, soil degradation, and loss of biodiversity. HLDO is implementing Permanant Farming (Coffee Plantation) starting from 2018.

These activities focus on raising awareness about different forms of gender-based violence, their impact on individuals and communities, and how to prevent and respond to GBV cases effectively and other related awareness though UNFPA.
MOCHA Response at Mindat
The Mindat (MOCHA) response involves providing humanitarian assistance and support in the aftermath of a crisis or emergency in the area of Mindat. This response may include medical care, relief supplies, infrastructure rebuilding, and support for affected communities to recover and rebuild their lives.
Women Self-Help Group Capacity Building
These capacity-building activities target women in self-help groups, empowering them with tailoring skills. The training aims to enhance their livelihood opportunities by teaching them how to sew and create various clothing items. This skill development can lead to increased income generation and economic independence for the women involved.
